PETPACS

All relatively recently collected imaging data in Turku PET Centre is stored as DICOM in PETPACS, including PET, MR, and CT images, and blood data. Carimas™ can read images directly from PETPACS. DICOM images and other data can be exported from PETPACS and saved on disk using DICOMClient, found in Windows start menu. Please read the instructions for using DICOMClient in intranet.

Only very recently stored or accessed files are immediately available in PETPACS. Data marked with NEARLINE is available within minutes, depending on the other tasks on the PETPACS server. If restoration fails (and DICOMClient displays the image subfolder as empty), give the access numbers to IT group for manual restoration.

PACS

Picture archiving and communications system (PACS) is a computer network dedicated to the storage, retrieval, distribution, and presentation of medical images. It has interfaces to other hospital computer networks and can offer a restricted web access for image reading stations.
